Small Stuffed Bun! Small Stuffed Bun!

Ingredients:(for 30 Buns)
      Filling       Dough
  • Ground pork 400g
  • Chopped green onion 75g
  • Salt 3/4 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce 1 teaspoo
  • Sesame oil 1/2 spoon
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Grinded ginger 10g
  • Vegetable oil 2 teaspoons
  • Water 200ml
  • Optional- Bok Choy 300g, salt 1/2 teaspoon
    Option 1
  • Instant blending flour 250g
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Boiling water 120ml
  • Cold water 30ml
    Option 2
  • Instant blending flour 250g
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water 150ml
  • Yeast 1 teaspoon

  Measurement Convert  

  • option 1: the pastry of bun will be chewy.
  • option 2: the buns will be soft.
You can choose either one,
or you can try both and figure out your preference.

Prepare the Filling
  • Chop the Bok Choy fine and put them into a big bowl, blend with salt, set aside for 15 minutes.
  • Squeeze chopped Bok Choy to dry.
  • Blend all filling ingredients and vegetable together. Until it's sticky.

Prepare Dough
    Option 1: (chewy)
  • Mix flour, sugar together in a big bowl. Pour the boiling water into it and blend it well. Pour the cold water in and knead it until it becomes smooth and soft.
  • Shape the dough into a cylinder and wrap it by cling-wrap loosely. Sit it aside for 30~40 minutes.
    Option 2: (soft)
  • Blend the yeast with water.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking, and vegetable oil powder in a big bowl.
  • Add the yeast-water into it then blend and knead it well until the dough soft.
  • Set the dough aside for 50~60 minutes. Then knead the dough to smooth and soft.

Wrap the Bun
  • Cut the dough of 15g. (30 shares)
  • Roll the dough into a thin round shape. (About 8cm diameter)
  • Put 15~20g of the prepared filling on the centre of the pastry. Then wrap it up. Like fold the edge altogether and twist the tip softly.
  • Repeat till all the buns made.


Steam the Buns
  • Prepare the bamboo food steamer, lay the cotton cloth pad on the steamer tray.
  • Lay the buns on the cloth pad. Be sure there's enough space between two buns.
  • Boil the water.
  • Put the steamer trays above the boiling water steam for 10 minutes.
  • Ready to serve.
